This is MATCH director Julia Patey - dancing between the wide and the macro, the objective and the subjective.

Julia started her filmmaking career in Canada at the age of 6, making fake commercials with her siblings on their family camcorder. This passion carried her through her bachelor of fine arts in Vancouver, where she studied philosophy and film production. In 2013, Julia left her homeland and set off to Berlin in pursuit of new inspiration.

Her work creates a sensual experience for the viewer using immersive cinematography and ASMR-like sound design. She aims to get under the viewer's skin and show the familiar in a new way, augmenting reality by focusing on the details. Tactile, close, and beautiful.
